Nashlea Brogan

Audiologist, Doctor of Audiology

Nashlea decided to become a Doctor of Audiology after she started to lose her own hearing at age 18. Her hearing worsened over the years until she was completely deaf. During this time, her own Audiologist encouraged and inspired her to become a Doctor of Audiology.

Before getting cochlear implants years later, Nashlea grew to understand that a hearing loss isn’t just a health issue that can be resolved with hearing aids. It affects your whole life; your schooling, work, social life and personal relationships. She knew that in order to fully help people, she needed to take a holistic approach to caring for the physical, emotional and lifestyle hearing needs of her patients.

Nashlea’s first-hand experience struggling with her own diagnosis and the practical day-to-day changes she had to make has helped her to become a better and more compassionate audiologist. She devotes a lot of time counseling patients to help them successfully adapt to their new hearing lifestyle and has created a specialized team at Bluewater Hearing to extend that level of care over the lifespan of your treatment.

When Nashlea isn’t seeing patients and running a business, she enjoys skiing in British Columbia with her husband Dr. Stephane Lefebvre (Lefebvre Dentistry) and participating in competitive bodybuilding. She’s also a full-time mom to Pearson and Rochelle and spends a lot of time traveling with her son to play soccer, and to Highland Dance competitions with her daughter.

Michelle Brogan

Hearing Instrument Specialist

For the past 16 years, Michelle has worked alongside her sister, Nashlea at Bluewater Hearing. Together, they grew the business to be the positive team-oriented clinic it is today by hiring great staff and providing a full range of products and services.

She has learned so much from her sister’s personal experiences with hearing loss and credits Nashlea with teaching her to see things from a different perspective. These experiences have also greatly influenced her career path. After graduating from Tyndale University College & Seminary, Michelle went on to complete her studies at Grant MacEwan College to become a Hearing Instrument Specialist.

Michelle loves to help people. She’s had the opportunity to meet hundreds of families across Lambton County. She’s always ready to help-out wherever needed, whether it’s demonstrating new equipment, listening attentively to patient’s personal experiences or answering questions from her team.

Her busy life also includes regularly traveling across Ontario with her husband and family while her three daughters to compete in Highland Dancing, Cheerleading or Swim Meets.

Allie Chipman

Hearing Instrument Specialist

Allie really loves what she does, and it shows in every patient interaction. She spends her time at Bluewater Hearing performing hearing tests and assisting at the front desk, as well as the pairing, set-up, minor repair and counselling on hearing aid accessories.

What Allie loves most about her job is that she is constantly learning new things and continuing her education. She earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Guelph, then went on to complete the Communicative Disorders Assistant at Lambton College. After graduating from Grant MacEwan College in the spring of 2019 with her Hearing Instrument Specialist designation, she’s excited to transition into that role at the clinic.

Growing up on a farm in rural Nova Scotia, Allie has always had a fascination with the five senses. Coupled with her interest in technology and her love of helping people, she truly is in the right career. She loves being a part of the Bluewater Hearing team because everyone is so committed to providing the best individual treatment plan for every patient’s hearing loss.

Her love of teamwork and helping people stretch far past her working hours. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, playing hockey and softball and volunteering with Special Olympics Sarnia.

Mackenzie Gorman

Hearing Instrument Specialist

Whether Mackenzie is greeting you at the front desk or conducting your hearing test, she’s always focused on providing the best care possible for each individual patient. She can help you out with a minor repair or a cleaning of your hearing aid, as well as recommend the best hearing aid accessories, trouble shoot any problems you may encounter and even do a home visit to set it up for you.

With a Bachelor of Health Science, Mackenzie was originally destined for a career in speech and language, but quickly changed direction after taking an introduction course to audiology in her third year at Western University. She loved every minute of it and with her new passion in tow, she returned to Sarnia to earn a diploma in Communicative Disorders Assistant at Lambton College.

She loves that the team at Bluewater Hearing are always looking to improve their knowledge and seek out new technology. Medical technology is constantly changing and although it can be stressful at times, she finds it exciting. She loves improving her skills and testing out all the new equipment!

To balance out all that new technology during the week, on the weekends you can find her enjoying the simpler things in life like crafting, swimming, and camping. The perfect balance between technology and nature!

Silvia Sullivan

Front Office Staff - Corunna

When you visit Bluewater Hearing’s Corunna location, Silvia will be there to greet you with a smile. She’s friendly and kind, and to her, you aren’t just a number or just a patient, you’re a part of the family. She truly cares about everyone who walks through the door and tries to make you feel welcome and important, and that you leave with a smile.

Silvia earned a diploma as a Dental Assistant from St. Clair College, but she feels it’s her people skills that make the most difference to the patients. Her employment at Bluewater Hearing started off as ‘just a job’ but with a great team of co-workers and wonderful patients, it quickly became her ‘Dream Job!’

Patients makes her day, everyday! She loves interacting with everyone and listening to their stories about how hearing loss has affected their lives. She gets great satisfaction knowing that the team at Bluewater Hearing can help make their life better. After learning Nashlea’s story of personal hearing loss and Cochlear implants, she has a new appreciation for hearing and no longer takes her own for granted.

When not working, Silvia loves to cook, bake, and sew, and spend as much time as possible with her granddaughter, Reagan.

Czarina Malinay

Office Manager

As the Office Manager, Czarina ensures the clinic runs smoothly every day. She manages all aspects of the office, which includes monitoring all the daily appointments and operations, handling the accounting and financial tasks, as well as processing your payments and third-party billings. Even though she spends most of her time helping to manage and grow the business, she still finds time to build meaningful relationships with all the patients and will even remember your name every time.

Czarina is a multi-tasker who does it all. With a diploma in Medical Office Administration under her belt, she has proudly worked her way up to Office Manager after originally starting as a Receptionist. She prides herself on being able to mentor and help coach the office staff to provide excellent customer service to every patient. Originally from the Philippines, she moved here at 16 and is still fluent in the Tagalog language.

She loves working at Bluewater Hearing because of the great environment and teamwork attitude. The staff are so close-knit that Czarina says they all feel like family. Everyone works together to provide a holistic approach to hearing loss, and it shows in the details.

She is a self-proclaimed “foodie” and loves cooking, hosting parties and taking road trips. Her 8-year-old son also keeps her busy with all his school activities and sports.
